On March 31, ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Chapter of Psi Chi and Anchor of Hope at ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ hosted a free community conference which took place in Newark at the 33 Washington Street Building.
The event, Addiction & Recovery: The Key to Recovery – God or Science, gave a voice to addicts and caregivers and provided information from experts who shared insights about paths to opioid addiction recovery. The life-saving impact of ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµâ€™s community conferences is featured in the newly released HBO documentary “Life of Crime: 1984-2020.â€
Over 100 guests attended this conference in person and virtually. Special guests for the event were Sensitivity Empowerment Workshops, Inc., Market Street Mission, Jersey Shor Rescue, Good Shepard Mission, Partnership for Drug-Free, Ruby’s Vision, Damon House, and Recovery Center of America.
Presenters at the conference were Dr. Maxine Bradshaw, Associate Dean & Professor of Psychology and Counseling, ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ, Dr. Mark Wade Director, Newark Department of Health and Community Wellness, and Gerald Cleaves, Director, ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Anchor of Hope.
